Jacobs said that it has spent $150,000 in renovation costs per room and it is investing $100 million toward art projects throughout the resort and its surrounding area. Phase one is expected to be completed in June. The company is in the first phase of its development plan, which will cost $300 million, and it will renovate the property’s 750 rooms - 500 of which are available for booking - and add restaurants J Paul’s Italian Steakhouse and Hanna’s Table. “I would like to let this property evolve to be the Bellagio of Reno, as a high-end property,” CEO Jeff Jacobs said. The company announced this week that the hotel-casino’s new name is the J Resort, as it undergoes a $400 million renovation. Jacobs Entertainment wants its rebrand of the Sands Regency to turn the property into “the Bellagio of Reno.” Rendering of a future spa at the J Resort in Reno, which has recently rebranded from the Sands Regency.
